Origination Fee: Fee charged by the federal government to help defray the cost of the student loan program. The origination fee is charged at disbursement and typically equals 2% to 3% of the amount before disbursement.
Other Resource: A resource is something that is available because a student is in school and is counted after need is determined. Outside scholarships, prepaid tuition plans and VA educational benefits are examples of other resources.
 
Outside or Agency Scholarship: An outside or agency scholarship is one that comes from sources other than the school and the federal or state government.
